What Shingle holds about your business, where it came from, and how to make it stop.

Who is responsible

The controller of everything on this page is Ephraim Enekwechi, trading as Shingle, Świerzawska 4, 60-321 Poznań, Poland. Shingle's US mailing address is 13423 Blanco Rd Unit #3339, San Antonio, TX 78216, and its US phone number is (726) 610-0155. Write to hello@shinglestudio.com about any of it.

This website

The site sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, has no analytics, and loads nothing from anywhere else. Like any web server, this one keeps an access log: the network address each request came from, the page asked for, the time, and the description your browser gives of itself. It is used to keep the site running and secure, and the host's settings delete it within two months.

If you write to us

Your message is kept in our mailbox for as long as the conversation, and any work that comes of it, needs it. It is used to answer you and for nothing else.

If we wrote to you first

Shingle looks for local businesses with good reviews and no website, or a website that lets them down, builds a private preview of a better one, and offers it to them. If that is how you heard from us, this is what we hold:

All of it comes from public places: your Google Business Profile, looked up through Google's own Places service, and your own website or another page where your business published its email address. What comes from Google is deleted from our records after 30 days. We don't copy photos from Google: a preview uses our own artwork, and a finished site uses photos you send us.

We rely on our legitimate interest in offering a service to businesses (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR), weighed against yours. Businesses are scored for how well a website would suit them. People are not scored, and a person decides on, writes and sends every message.

The preview is private. Nothing links to it, search engines are told not to index it, and it sits at an address nobody could guess. It comes down the day you ask, and in any case 90 days after we sent it if you haven't replied. If you don't reply, your details are deleted twelve months after they were found.

If you reviewed a business we wrote to

A preview may quote up to three of that business's Google reviews, with the reviewer's name as Google shows it, so the owner can see their reviews on a site of their own. The preview is private and comes down as described above. If one of the reviews is yours and you'd rather it wasn't there, write to hello@shinglestudio.com and it will be taken off the same day.

Stopping it

Reply "no" to any message, or write to hello@shinglestudio.com, and Shingle will not contact your business again, by any channel. The preview's own "Take it down" link removes the preview the same day. Your business then stays on a do-not-contact list permanently, because forgetting that you asked is the one deletion that would do you harm.

Who else handles it

Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared for anyone else's marketing.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or have its use restricted. You can object to being contacted at any time, and that objection is final. Write to hello@shinglestudio.com, and you will have an answer within a month. You can also complain to the Polish supervisory authority, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office, at uodo.gov.pl.
